A busy of month of weddings but starting right off at the Nottingham Motorpoint Ice Arena for the EIHL Play Off Finals weekend. Sorry to report that the Braehead Clan did not make it through to the finals but plenty of the fans did:
Also where would we be without our great mascot Clangus? A winner at the Dance Off!
Right back home to a wedding at the Lyndhurst Hotel quickly followed by a wedding at the Hallmark Hotel Irvine. Bit disappointed by the weather for Chrissie as it rained most of the day so pictures were taken indoors. Never quite the same but we certainly made the best of the situation. Great weddings are made by those involved and I really enjoyed this one.
In between the weddings off to the Time Capsule in Coatbridge to photograph a junior ice hockey team hoping to attract new members. Must admit was quite surprised by the numbers involved. Very impressive turnout as you can see from the picture below.
In the middle of the month got away to Edinburgh for the Photovision road show 2016. Not sure how long this will continue as it lacks contributors but is well attended. A lot of comments this year about the content, or lack of it. Would be nice to see it succeed though.
Studio 13 saw a fair amount of portrait work being done and I have to thank all my clients for choosing the studio which is always greatly appreciated.
Been quite a while since I last did a wedding at the Bearsden Registry Office so was delighted to get another done this month. Think the last time was about 10 years ago. That’s quite a lapse in time for what is a local weddings venue. Weather was quite kind to us so that is always a bonus.
I am also a photographic judge so was delighted to judge some inter club competitions locally and in Hamilton. Never easy being a judge but I always try to offer advice and help people improve. Of course some images are truly outstanding and it is always a delight to view the images of others no matter what level they are at. You are never going to be universally loved as a judge, bit like a referee really.
The end of the month saw me away to Dundee. No weddings this time but plenty of shooting with 6 Scots at Barry Buddon ranges. Great weekend and day 1 the sun was blistering. Day two not so hot but the rain did not come to much. Look forward to the next one!
