I thought it would be helpful to give prospective clients an idea of what they can expect from and during a booked studio session with Monapics.com.
Each session usually lasts up to three hours and will have a few changes in costumes/dress for the user and lighting set-ups from myself. Attire is up to the individual concerned and I will work to within your comfort levels. Most models will work to at least lingerie, swim wear etc. The choice of clothing is obviously yours. Underwear should be new with the labels removed. Shoes should also be new or only used for modelling with clean soles and uppers. Shaving your legs the day before a shoot in not a good idea. Do this at least a few days in advance and allow any redness to disappear. Fake tan is a nightmare and shows up orange and or blotchy in the final images please allow this to fade completely before your shoot.
You should be able to do your own makeup and hair to a fairly high standard to achieve the look you wish to create. Photographic makeup is not the same as you would normally apply going for a night out and you have to ensure your skin has no shiny bits so makeup is generally matt in appearance. Shiny skin (or sweat!!) creates hot spots that will reflect studio light and does not tend to look too great in pictures. A highly qualified make up artist can be provided at extra cost. This extra cost can be very worthwhile to create a new and unique look for you and your images. £65 for this service is well worthwhile!
I have included some images below from a January 2010 session with the model Debbie Shaw to give you an example of what can be achieved and to expect to create some differing looks. Please remember though that Debbie is a professional model and is excellent in front of the camera.
Before you come along: try and have your hair/make-up ready (to save you time) and you should try out some poses that you would like to use when being photographed. Please remember not to wear any tight or restrictive clothing for a few hours prior to arrival (that includes tight waisted jeans, bra, etc.) as this leaves banding marks around your body which is seen very easily in camera and the resulting pictures.
