About George Monaghan

George Monaghan is a professional photographer and videographer based in Glasgow, with Studio 13 in Renfrew.

For more than thirty-five years, he has photographed a wide range of subjects for private, commercial and editorial clients. His work includes headshots, portraits, products, watches, jewellery, model portfolios, weddings and events, both in the studio and on location.

George began taking photography seriously through Drumchapel Camera Club, where experienced members helped him learn photographic technique and traditional printing. He later completed several SCOTVEC qualifications and courses at Clydebank College, now West College Scotland.

He went on to work for local newspapers, with images published nationally. One of his longest associations was with Glasgow Clan ice hockey club, photographing players, their families and the “Purple Army” fanbase over many years.

The name “Glasgow Photographer” has been part of George’s online presence for many years and remains associated with Monapics.com and @glasgow.photographer.

Today, George works from Studio 13, a fully equipped professional studio. Every commission is approached according to the client’s brief and the intended use of the finished images.
